• Tyrol boasts the highest density of ski lifts worldwide. Further expansion of ski resorts, especially onto glacier areas, is irresponsible and leads to the destruction of pristine natural habitats. In the midst of the climate crisis and rapid glacier melt, the continued expansion of glacier ski resorts is outdated and disrespectful.
• The Alps are massively threatened by overdevelopment and overexploitation. If we want to leave intact natural habitats for future generations, we must halt further development and protect these landscapes.
• Surveys have shown that the vast majority of Tyroleans reject any further expansion of ski resorts, especially onto glacier areas.
• The regional government should also consider the interests of tourists to Tyrol who come because of the beautiful nature - not to destroy it.
