Why is this important?

Alpine glaciers are melting at an alarming rate. [1]

Now, these beautiful mountains face a new threat: intensive tourism. The local government in Austria is on the verge of approving massive infrastructure projects, including the construction of ski lifts, in Pitztal and Kaunertal. [2]

The last glaciers, covered in concrete and ski lifts?! We cannot let that happen.

Glaciers aren't just awe-inspiring remnants of the past, they are an integral part of alpine nature, supporting a highly sensitive ecosystem.

But we can still stop this monstrosity. If enough people all over Europe raise their voice, the local government will have to abandon these dangerous plans. After all, Austria is dependent on tourism and can’t afford the bad press.
