Stand against hate: Stop the far-right's attack on justice!
To the European Parliament and its president Roberta Metsola
Petition
We call on the European Parliament to reschedule Maboula Soumahoro's conference, and to take a firm stand against the racist hatred and threats that led to its postponement.
Why is this important?
In less than 24 hours, far-right representatives succeeded in getting Maboula Soumahoro’s conference postponed. Soumahoro, a French anti-racist researcher invited to speak at the European Parliament on labor equality, became the target of a hate campaign.
Since then, Soumahoro has been subjected to online threats and harassment that put her safety at risk: she received threats even at her workplace. [1]
The far right is determined to ensure that her public appearance never takes place.
We cannot allow such hatred to go unchallenged. This is not who we are and this is not what Europe is.
Here is the plan: let's turn anger into action. By adding your signature, you will join thousands of people across Europe who are fighting against racism. If so many people are keen to join this fight, WeMove will launch this campaign and make your voice heard directly to the President of the European Parliament.
Researchers, civil society organisations and public figures have already addressed a letter to the President. If we corner her, with your support, we can put enough pressure on her to get the conference rescheduled. [2]
