Yes to peace, No to the militarisation of Europe!

To the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the European Union
Petition
We call on EU leaders to:
- Reject the ReArm Europe plan, which diverts billions of euros into the arms industry instead of investing in healthcare, education, and the green transition.
- Defend peace and diplomacy, opposing an arms race that threatens global security rather than ensuring it.
- Block the militarisation of the EU budget, ensuring our tax money is used for the well-being of citizens and the building of a fairer, more sustainable Europe.
Europe must not give in to the logic of war and increased military spending. Security is built through cooperation, not weapons. Say NO to the militarisation of the EU!
Why is this important?
A dangerous new arms race is happening in Europe. Our European leaders plan to pour 800 billion euros of our tax money into military expansion. [1]
That’s 800 billion that should be funding our hospitals, schools, and the fight against the climate crisis. Instead, the arms industry and their lobbyists are cashing in.
Scared about Trump’s announcement to cut military support to Europe, politicians want you to think this is about security, but it’s really about profit. Right now, weapons lobbyists are flooding Brussels, demanding public money for more missiles, tanks, and bombs. [2]
As history shows, more weapons don’t bring peace, they lead to escalation and more conflict. [3] A Europe built on arms and militarization will not be safer, it will be one ruled by fear, conflict and instability.
Across Europe, scientists and peace advocates are speaking out against this reckless plan. [4] Now, we must join them and raise our voices louder than the arms lobby.
Tell European leaders: NO to the militarization of Europe—YES to peace, diplomacy, and investment in our future!
