Make coffee fair for people and the planet

To the coffee industry: especially Illy, Lavazza, Costa Coffee, Rainforest Alliance
Petition
- End child labor and modern slavery in your entire supply chain through rigorous monitoring, effective remediation, and strong prevention measures.
- Guarantee a living income for coffee farmers by ensuring fair and stable prices for coffee.
- Adopt comprehensive human rights policies that cover your entire supply chain, from farm to cup.
- Conduct regular, unannounced inspections to enforce ethical labor standards and prevent exploitation.
- Ensure your coffee is deforestation-free by committing to sustainable sourcing practices that protect forests and biodiversity.
Why is this important?
Coffee giants, like Illy, Lavazza and Costa Coffee, are bulldozing our forests. In 2017 alone, they destroyed so many trees it was like putting 4.5 million extra cars on the road! [1]
Thanks to pressure from communities like ours, the EU passed a law requiring all coffee sold in Europe to be deforestation-free. [2] But now, our leaders are giving companies an extra year to keep selling forest-killing coffee–and we risk further delays as the EU shifts away from planet-saving action. [3]
While politicians let them off the hook, we must harness our power as consumers to make sure coffee giants stop harming people and the planet.
We’ve teamed up with activists who know exactly which coffee companies are vulnerable to public pressure. When thousands of us expose their forest-killing coffee, they’ll be forced to finally clean up their act.
Our coffee shouldn’t destroy forests and human lives. Will you add your name to demand truly sustainable coffee?
