We demand that EU officials and national leaders urgently adopt and implement the recommendations from the FEM position paper, including:
- Guarantee reproductive freedom by ensuring legal, safe, and accessible abortion in every EU country.
- Protect all women and marginalized people from sexual and gender-based violence through stronger laws, survivor support, and prevention education.
- Close the gender pay gap and end discrimination in hiring, pay, and promotion.
- Ensure fair representation in politics by enforcing gender quotas and supporting women in leadership.
- Provide free and inclusive sex education in all schools.
Take real climate action by holding industries accountable and including women in environmental leadership.
Why is this important?
Because equality is not optional — it's a right.
Right now, millions of young women and non-binary people across Europe are being held back by outdated laws, stigma, discrimination, and violence. Many can’t access basic healthcare, feel unsafe in public spaces, or are excluded from leadership and opportunity.
The FEM recommendations were shaped by the voices of 900+ young women and non-binary persons from across Europe — especially those most often unheard: LBTQ+ youth, women of color, migrants, people with disabilities, and others facing marginalization.
This is a turning point. With bold action, we can build a Europe where every woman and girl lives free from violence, with full access to health, safety, equality, and opportunity.
