We call for the immediate resignation of Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, following the announcement of a highly controversial and damaging agreement with Donald Trump.
Why is this important?
A Call for Accountability: Von der Leyen Must Resign
This agreement marks a troubling alignment of the European Union with the geopolitical agenda of Donald Trump, a figure widely recognised for undermining multilateralism, weakening NATO cohesion, and championing isolationist, transactional politics.
President Ursula von der Leyen’s unilateral decision to engage in this deal represents a strategic surrender to U.S. interests, compromising Europe’s independence, unity, and long-term security. It threatens to reduce the European Union from a sovereign global actor to a subordinate partner, undermining decades of hard-won progress in building an autonomous and balanced international presence.
Her continued leadership is no longer tenable. It has become a liability to the credibility, stability, and global standing of the European Union. We cannot entrust the future of our Union to someone who chooses submission over sovereignty.
At a time when Europe needs clear, courageous, and independent leadership, Ursula von der Leyen has shown she is fundamentally unfit for the role.
What We Demand
- The immediate resignation of Ursula von der Leyen as President of the European Commission.
- A transparent and independent investigation into the contents and consequences of the deal made with Donald Trump.
- A renewed commitment to democratic governance, institutional checks and balances, and a truly European foreign policy grounded in multilateral cooperation.
We believe Europe deserves better: leadership that defends our values, protects our independence, and serves the collective interests of its people—not leadership that bargains them away behind closed doors.
