Keep Big Tech accountable!
To the European Commission, especially to President von der Leyen, Commissioner Ribera, and Commissioner Virkkunen.
Petition
We call on you to:
- Reject any weakening or deregulation via the proposed Digital Omnibus of:
- the Digital Services Act (DSA);
- the Digital Markets Act (DMA);
- and the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act).
- Maintain full enforcement and timelines of the AI Act, including obligations for high-risk AI systems and transparency measures.
- Protect citizens’ privacy, online safety, democratic rights, and fair competition, resisting any industry pressure to dilute these safeguards.
Europeans demand strict, enforceable digital rules - not watered-down laws. Protect our rights, safety, and democracy online. Don’t bend to Big Tech!
Why is this important?
Mark Zuckerberg is under fire again - and he’s trying to outrun the flames.
Investigations show that Meta has knowingly let billions of scam ads run on Facebook and Instagram, earning a huge share of this revenue. Millions of people click on ads that promise quick money, fake investment schemes, illegal gambling, or prohibited products. [1]
These scandals prove something we’ve always known: Big Tech cannot be trusted to protect our safety, our money, or our personal data.
We have the tools to stop them. Strict, new and functional rules that have held Big Tech giants like Musk and Google accountable, and can do it again. [2] But these rules that defend our democracy and safety online are under attack.
Big Tech is trying to get rid of them. And, if we don’t move quickly, they might succeed.
Add your name today to call on European leaders to stand firm and defend strong protections for citizens. We want the EU to keep us safe online and hold corporations accountable.
Tell our leaders now: Protect people’s safety, not Big Tech’s money!
