To the European Commission, especially to President von der Leyen, Commissioner Ribera, and Commissioner Virkkunen.

We call on you to:

  • Reject any weakening or deregulation via the proposed Digital Omnibus of:
    • the Digital Services Act (DSA);
    • the Digital Markets Act (DMA);
    • and the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act).
  • Maintain full enforcement and timelines of the AI Act, including obligations for high-risk AI systems and transparency measures.
  • Protect citizens’ privacy, online safety, democratic rights, and fair competition, resisting any industry pressure to dilute these safeguards.

Europeans demand strict, enforceable digital rules - not watered-down laws. Protect our rights, safety, and democracy online. Don’t bend to Big Tech!

Why is this important?

Google and Musk have been punished for breaking our laws. [1] [2]

This is it. Democracy wins. We all live happily ever after. Or at least this is how it should end.

When EU authorities finally held Google and Elon Musk accountable, it sent shockwaves through Silicon Valley. For the first time in forever, Big Tech billionaires faced real consequences for breaking the rules.

Now, they are panicking. And fighting back.

Behind closed doors, powerful lobbyists have been pushing for an omnibus law, basically a text designed to weaken the rules that made these fines possible in the first place. They say it’s about “simplification”. In reality, it’s about protection - for billionaires’ profits, not for people. [3]

The tantrum they are throwing shows they are afraid, because our rules are the only thing that holds them accountable. Together, we’ve already shown that citizens can take on tech giants - and win. [4] Now we must make sure this victory isn’t undone in the shadows.

Tell EU decision-makers: don’t water down Big Tech rules.
