EU: Ban private jets!

Why is this important?

“The cheapest energy is the one you don’t use”, said the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to Europeans. [1]

But while she wants us to cut back, she keeps flying with private jets - even between Brussels and Luxembourg. A journey that takes about two and a half hours by car. [2]

And it gets worse. The EU increased spending on private jets by 50% - knowing they’re among the most polluting forms of transport. [3]

Now Europe faces another energy crisis. Prices are rising again. Airlines warn that flights may be cancelled due to fuel shortages. And thousands of people like you and me may not be able to afford their ONE week of holiday this year. [4]

People across Europe are furious, and why some Members of the European Parliament are now calling for a temporary ban on private jets. [5]

But temporary is not enough. We want a full ban on private jets. And the timing couldn't be better. Next week, EU energy ministers meet to discuss measures for the current energy crisis. A ban on private jets could be part of the package.[6]
