Stop Volkswagen’s dangerous new deal
To the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the European Union
Petition
Volkswagen wants to move from building cars to supplying systems used in warfare - and make billions from it.
The German corporation is exploring a deal linked to Israeli military technology at its Osnabrück factory.
The deal is not done yet. That means we can still stop it. But we don’t have long. We call on Volkswagen to:
- Rule out producing parts linked to Israeli military technology;
- Keep the Osnabrück site focused on civilian manufacturing;
- Publish full transparency on any talks with military contractors.
Pressure is growing over Germany’s military support to Israel.
Europe should not become a hub for expanding military production tied to war and genocide.
Volkswagen still has a choice. We’re calling on it to stop this dirty deal now.
Why is this important?
Volkswagen built its reputation making cars. Now they want to build war machines. [1]
Eight billion euros in profits isn’t enough, so they’re considering manufacturing parts for Israeli military technology. A new deal means they would make parts for the Iron Dome - a critical tool for Netanyahu’s war chest. [2]
Deadly air strikes. Unlawful use of white phosphorus in Lebanon. Children killed in Gaza. If Volkswagen agrees to this deal, they are complicit. [3] We need them to hear from us - Europe should not become a hub fuelling illegal wars.
Volkswagen is still recovering from the Dieselgate scandal. They’re under fire for plans to cut over 10,000 factory jobs. [4] Now, they want to sweep their plans to profit from war under the rug.
We don’t have long to force Volkswagen to stop this deadly deal. And the fastest way to make them listen is by damaging what they depend on most: their brand.
If people start speaking out against VW, bosses start to panic. If trust in the brand falls, people will stop buying its cars - and they will lose a lot of money.
Volkswagen still has a choice. We won’t let them build war machines.
