Petition
Greenland is not empty land waiting to be stripped. It is not a bargaining chip for billionaire egos or a resource warehouse for political ambition.
Donald Trump’s attempt to push for mineral exploitation in Greenland is a direct assault on one of the most fragile ecosystems on Earth and a blatant act of climate denial dressed up as “economic opportunity.” This is not development. It is extraction at any cost.
Mining in Greenland would accelerate Arctic melting, destroy irreplaceable habitats, and impose foreign interests on Indigenous and local communities who have the absolute right to decide their own future. Turning the Arctic into a sacrifice zone for profit is reckless, unethical, and dangerous.
Allowing Trump or interests linked to his influence to exploit Greenland’s minerals would send a devastating message: that money and power matter more than science, sovereignty, and the survival of our planet.
We say NO.
- No to Arctic mining driven by political and corporate greed.
- No to Trump’s interference and economic interests.
- No to treating Greenland as a resource colony.
We demand an immediate block on any authorization that would allow mineral extraction in Greenland connected to Donald Trump or his allies, and we call for Greenland’s protection to be treated as a global responsibility.
The planet cannot survive leaders who confuse power with ownership.
Greenland is not for sale
Why is this important?
This matters because it goes far beyond Greenland, but it begins with Greenland.
Any concession by Denmark under political pressure would signal that European sovereignty is negotiable when confronted with U.S. power. It would weaken Europe’s strategic position in the Arctic and expose its climate and territorial commitments as fragile when tested.
For Greenland, the stakes are existential. Mineral exploitation threatens fragile ecosystems, accelerates climate damage, and risks overriding the will and rights of Greenlandic communities to decide their own future. Treating Greenland as a strategic asset rather than a living homeland reduces its people to spectators in decisions that will shape their land for generations.
For Donald Trump, this would be a political victory. A demonstration that pressure works, that environmental limits can be bent, and that international resistance can be worn down. Such victories do not stay isolated. They set precedents, spill into other regions, and embolden further demands elsewhere.
Stopping this is not only about minerals or diplomacy.
It is about protecting Greenland’s right to self-determination, defending Europe’s credibility, and drawing a line against extractive power politics before they spread.
Signing this petition is choosing life over profit, responsibility over greed, and the future over short-term gain. 🌍🔥🧊
