This petition is now closed. Over 140,000 people from across Europe signed it and we made history: the EU agreed on its first law on violence against women.
What does it mean concretely ?
There will be crisis centers for survivors, better accessible national telephone helpline numbers, and shelters for victims of domestic violence. Female genital mutilation, forced marriage, and some forms of online violence will also be established as crimes. We could not have achieved this without people like you!

Stand with survivors!
Hi, I have just signed this petition on women's rights and I would like you to do the same. We have an historic opportunity to ensure a minimum level of protection for all women and girls in Europe. The next few weeks will be key because member states are now debating their positions. We cannot allow some states to block or water down the directive. We have to make it clear to our politicians. Will you join this petition? https://act.wemove.eu/campaigns/violence-against-women Thank you!
