Petition
In recent years, road impacts involving animals and humans have increased exponentially, accidents that must be mitigated with tools and technologies designed to safeguard all forms of life.
Just a few days ago, in Italy, a boy lost his life because a car in front of him hit a deer crossing the road, causing the animal's body to jump into the cab of the truck driven by the victim.
It is usual for bodies and institutions to place the blame on wild animals and this is a mistake that we cannot afford, as it is the duty of politicians to ensure the protection of human and animal lives.
We ask that the European Commission commits itself and requires all member states to adapt with the necessary implementation such as wildlife corridors, cutting-edge technology such as acoustic and sound warning devices, speed bumps and road signs indicating the presence or crossing of wildlife.
European funds are paid by every citizen and it is time that they are also allocated to causes useful to the entire community.
Why is this important?
Wildlife corridors are extremely important and necessary for everyone, not only are they indispensable for the safety of animals and humans but they encourage the movement of wildlife towards other territories, and this could discourage them from approaching anthropic areas.
