Stop this toxic reform of European agriculture!
To Members of the European Parliament
Petition
The proposed reform on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) would get rid of environmental constraints in Europe’s biggest budget item. This reform would be a disaster for our health, the planet and biodiversity.
Vote against the reform of the CAP!
Why is this important?
The industrial farming lobby has convinced some of our MEPs to rush through a shady reform of the agricultural budget. A reform that will line the pockets of big agribusiness, at the expense of small family farmers. A reform that would destroy any glimmer of hope for protecting the bees and birds. [1]
The proposed reform is a death sentence for nature.
But it’s not too late to stop it. In a few days it goes to a vote in the European Parliament.
Many MEPs are on the fence. Those very MEPs are also thinking about re-election. So they’re hyper-sensitive to voter opinions - that’s us! Now is our chance to speak out and stop this toxic reform.
The only winners of this reform would be industrial farms and giants like Bayer Monsanto. Small and organic farmers have already come out against this reform. [2]
Climate change is devastating for farmers, destroying their crops and making it harder and harder to scrape a living. We need agricultural policies that protect biodiversity and our future on this planet.
The proposed reform would strip away vital protections for bees and birds from the EU agricultural budget - and will add fuel to the fire of the biodiversity crisis.
Will you tell you MEP to vote against this reform?
