Say NO to Trump’s trade deal

To the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the European Union
Petition
We call on you to reject the EU-US trade deal in its current form. A new deal should:
- Ensure that the EU stays on track with its climate goals, doesn’t agree to buy fossil fuels from the US, and doesn’t weaken existing EU climate laws like the methane regulation
- Protect EU digital consumers and make sure US Big Tech companies don’t abuse their market dominance.
We want you to negotiate a deal that puts people and the planet above corporate profits.
Why is this important?
People across Europe are feeling like you do. A recent survey shows that the majority of Europeans don’t want Trump’s trade deal. [1]
A deal that forces the EU to buy €700 billion of fossil fuels and nuclear energy from the US. This dirty deal would set us back — on fighting climate change and protecting citizens from powerful corporations. [2]
But Europe can do better. We can invest in clean, reliable energy instead of fossil fuels. We can protect people, not fossil fuel companies. We can show the US that Europe stands for climate action, fairness and democracy.
The good news: this isn’t a done deal.
The European Parliament and our governments haven’t approved it yet. So the earlier we step in, the more chances we will have to stop it.
Already, pressure is mounting on Commission President von der Leyen to change course. Her job is even on the line! [3]
This is our moment to show Europe’s strength. By raising our voices now, we can push our leaders to reject this deal — and open the door for a Europe that invests in clean, homegrown energy. And stands strong against bullies like Trump.
Tell European leaders today: Say NO to Trump’s trade deal.
