Ban private jets and luxury emissions!
To European Decision-Makers
Petition
The private jets and luxury emissions of the super-rich cost the rest of us and burn up our planet. It’s time to stop this scandal. We call for:
- A ban of private jets
- A ban on air miles
- A tax on frequent flyers
This way we can ensure that a small group of wealthy people pay for the excessive pollution and emissions they cause.
Why is this important?
Just 1% of people are responsible for half of all toxic emissions from flying. [1]
And while many of us struggle to make ends meet, the sale of private jets is skyrocketing. [2]
Billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are responsible for obscene levels of luxury emissions.
But here's the thing: we can do something about it. In fact, the solution is simple – cut emissions from luxury flights. This includes a ban of private jets from European airports, a tax on frequent flyers and an end to frequent flyer programmes.
And we know it can be done: climate activists recently scored a win and managed to ban private jets at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. [3] Let’s build on that success and cut down luxury emissions from flying.
