Make coffee fair for people and the planet

To the 5 biggest coffee certification schemes: Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade International, 4C, CAFE Practices, Organic
Petition
- End child labor and all forms of exploitation across certified farms, through rigorous monitoring and reporting.
- Require fair prices for coffee farmers that support a living income.
- Enforce human rights policies at every stage of the supply chain, from farm to cup.
- Conduct unannounced, regular inspections of certified farms to find and address violations.
- Only certify coffee grown with deforestation-free and planet-friendly practices.
Why is this important?
Imagine waking before dawn to pick coffee berries for 17 hours straight. No clean drinking water. No toilet. No contract or decent minimum income. For millions of workers worldwide, this is the reality behind our morning cup of coffee. [1]
Even worse? Many of these farms are certified as “ethical” and “sustainable” by certification schemes we see on our shelves, such as Fairtrade International, Rainforest Alliance and 4C. They slap feel-good labels on coffee brands – while failing to truly protect people or the environment. [2]
It’s a scam that tricks well-meaning consumers like us. But new investigations are shaking up the industry. [3] If we act now, we can tip the balance.
These certifiers are not big corporations with legal firepower. They survive on trust – and when we expose their failures, they panic. That’s our power. A huge petition with thousands of signatures will show them we’re watching – and we expect real reform.
If you sign now, you’ll become part of a Europe-wide movement for fair coffee. Then, together we'll take the next step: filing false advertising complaints in our countries, to pressure coffee certifiers to urgently clean up their act – or lose their credibility.
